This book for vibraphonists authored by Giovanni is a home run for sure. I was totally impressed with the depth and scope of the book and how Giovanni masterfully addresses all of the topics from the basic fundamentals to the more advanced concepts related to voicings, comping and improvisation. The book is filled with so many great insights and important topics which are all covered and explained so well. From how to approach the vibraphone in terms of techniques on pedaling and dampening, how and what to practice, in-depth ways of improvising, clear cut ways to come up with voicings, various approaches to comping and so on, Giovanni does it masterfully along with detailed explanations supported by perfectly shot photos.
